Looking back at times is useless and a waste of time. True, we should look at the past, learning from it, weather it’s good or bad, but I think the biggest mistake is DWELLING in the past, especially when things didn’t go as planned. What good does it do? You can’t go back. The only way you can move is forward.
None of what has happened matters. What matters is the present. Right now. The past is gone, and the future doesn’t exist yet. You can create your future in your present, so why play around in the muck of the not-so-great past? It just slows you down.
For me, all the things that have happened hurt like hell, and really did a number on me physically, mentally, and emotionally, but how are the coulda, woulda, shouldas going to help me? How is lamenting over a situation that has happened going to help me? Easy. It isn’t. Have to live in the now, and move forward.
Another key is to stay true to yourself. You are the one living your life, no one else is. So whatever benefits you, then do it. Don’t worry about anyone, or anything else. Stand tall, leave the burdens where they belong, and remember what matters is you and you alone…
“By letting it go it all gets done. The world is won by those who let it go. But when you try and try. The world is beyond the winning” – Lao Tzu
