Sometimes you just can’t win. Face it, you’ll win some, and you’ll lose some. The thing is to be prepared for any battle that comes your way. You also need to know when to fight and take control, and when to just let things go and let them unfold.
There are certain things you CAN control, and certain things you CAN”T. We need to train ourselves to know the difference. I think I’m getting better at distinguishing the two. One of the main things though is to know yourself. There’s something I’ve been reading recently that I’d like to share. It comes from The Art of War (the book, not the movie). In a nutshell:
Know yourself.
Know your enemy.
Know your surroundings.
Know when to engage and when to evade.
Know when to advance and when to withdraw.
Know how to lead and inspire those around you.
Know when to reward and when to punish.
The book is about battle, but can be adapted to everyday life. Let’s win this battle, or war that we go into everyday. Let’s train ourselves to be fighters, conquerors, unstoppable. Be prepared and move forward. When you are a strong force, no army, weather big or small can beat you…
“Don’t wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.” – Mark Victor Hansen
