When we become wounded, heartbroken, betrayed, we can’t help but think of getting back at the person, or persons, that hurt us. What happens though, is our judgment, our common sense, gets clouded. We lose focus.
And even if we decide to “forgive and forget”, there’s always that cockiness that can creep in which also makes you lose focus. You get so wrapped up in waiting for karma to kick in, you forget about yourself.
So what do we do? Nothing. Need to learn how to deal, and let the chips fall where they may. If we lose focus on ourselves, it won’t get us anywhere. It in a way makes you “stuck”. Just letting go and improving yourself, having the better life is the best revenge of all…
“A man that studieth revenge keeps his own wounds green”. – Francis Bacon
