I know it’s been a while since I have posted anything here on the site, but, here I am. Alive and well. Well, as well as I am going to be for the moment. No, things are good (all things considered), but getting reintroduced to my form of civilization has been a little bit of a process. Alot has gone on, and will continue to do so, but, things are looking up.
The old self would have probably exploded, or have just given up by now, but I said old self. Gone are those days. Sure, I’m still working on things, but everyone should strive to be better, EVERYDAY, not just when it’s convenient, or when “things go wrong”. Do I still get stressed? Sure. I won’t lie. But the key is in how you handle the stress and how you look at all things looking for the positives, and for the lesson to be learned by your experiences.
So, mending a broken relationship, dealing with the joblessness and other related issues back here in the good ‘ol US of A, I still believe that in the end, it will all be better than it was before. And that’s what you, and everyone else should feel. Use the events in your life as stepping stones. Experience, learn, grow. What other alternatives are there? Be human. Be well…

You’ve heard, as well as I have, people say “one day at a time”. Great saying. It’s easier to deal with things that are troubling us, or in our way, if we just chip away at it, taking it one step at a time. It’s better to take things slow, and deal with things one piece at a time, finding the solution to the puzzle.
But most of us allow ourselves to get overwhelmed with eveything at once, and then we just look at it and say that we can’t handle it. We use it as an excuse, and take the cowards way out. Is that really what you want to be known for, being a coward, a quitter?
Practice makes perfect, so right now is the moment to do what you need to in order to overcome anything thrown your way, and for you to have what you want out of life. Let’s not be cowards. Let’s hang in there and take it one step, piece, and day at a time.

When things in our life are on the negative side, we surround ourselves with just that, negativity. We never think that by our actions, we attract that which we don’t want in the first place. We attract negativity into our lives in many shapes and forms. It may be people, places, or things.
Surrounding yourself with the right things, positive things is really the way to go. It may not seem like things are getting better right away, but the right attitude will get you there. You also need patience. Keeping positive and good people in your life will also help you greatly.
So if there’s anything that is negative, and that can hold you down, don’t subject yourself to it. If so called “friends” or even family members aren’t there to lift you up, or help make things better, make the change. Now, you don’t necessarily have to alienate them, but try surrounding yourself with the right things and the right people, because let’s face it, we don’t need anyone, or anything, that’s no good for us.

Everyone has ideas and dreams in their mind. We all have wants and sometimes even daydream about doing things we want to do, or love doing. But what happens? Life. Life gets in the way. Or does it? Can it be that we are the ones that just give up, and let life get in the way?
What does that even mean? Think about it. Life gets in the way. Does it really make any sense? The more I think about it, the more I believe that statement is just false. A lie we all use. An excuse. Life isnt supposed to “get in the way”. It’s supposed to flow, and move. And if it does stop moving, ask yourself what’s the cause.
So, dont let anyhting in life get in the way of dreams and things you want out of life. Make it flow. Don’t be the blockage that slows, or stops you. Dont’t be the one that takes part in destroying your dreams and not getting what you want out of life. Yes, I was, and am guilty of this too, but we need to hold our heads up high, and keep moving on…

A lot of us go through he same things in life. We are all in this together. We also need to realize that a lot of the solution is within ourselves. We have the power to overcome and make changes. We do. But, there’s always an excuse, always someone else to blame.
Why continue playing the blame game and making excuses? That gets really old, really fast, doesn’t it? I know in my experiences, I would make excuses, blame other things or people, or even go so far as make someone else the scapegoat. All because I couldn’t deal with the tormented existance that I was suffering through.
Others are in the same boat. You know you’re out there. We all should know better. Enough of the nonsense and begin taking what you want out of life. Time to say enough and be the person you want to be. We need to continue tapping into that inner strength and find our tomorrow today.

A lot of people adapt the “gloom and doom” attitude when it comes to certain things. Many also look at life through cynical eyes. Does it really make sense to look at things that way? I used to be that way, and thinking back, it just did more harm than good.
They say you attract what you release. I find that there is truth to that. If you look at things negatively, and always though a cynics eyes, what do you think that will get you? We need to look at things in a positive light, even though, yes, it could be hard at times.
But it’s up to us, isn’t it? Up to us to be the ones, a catalyst if you will, to be willing to let go of our egos, our pride, our lack of understanding, and willingness to look for the silver lining in all situations. Let’s not let negativity get the best of us. Stand up, let go, and be the catalyst to attract the positive things you want out of life.

We all have troubles. We all have faults. Most of us have so many things in common. EVERYONE has obstacles to overcome. It’s either a situation currently in your life, a past occurrence, or maybe it’s a few personality flaws. I myself have, and do go through all of the above, and I’m sure most of you do as well.
Life’s not perfect, we are not perfect. There’s flaws all around. It’s how we deal with the flaws and imperfection in life. It’s all about how we can control what we can control, and let go of all the rest.
So, we are all damaged to one degree or another. A lot of people go through the same kinds of hardships and personal issues. We are not alone. None of us. We just need to remember that we should live our lives to the fullest, realize that things can’t always be perfect.

Sometimes we need to be knocked down from our high horse in order to learn an important lesson. We live our lives careless and unaware. We get so used to the day in and day out of mediocrity, familiarity, comfort. Not a care in the world. Humility takes a back seat and we forget ourselves, our identity, our purpose.
We need to simplify our lives. Life can be a little complicated as it is. Humility is an important part of healing, and moving on. You have to strip yourself down to the bone and start from scratch. Put ego, or your refusal of acceptance aside, in order to advance.
It’s impossible to move on to a life that isn’t worth holding on to. A life that is filled with pain, hurt, and regret. A life that isn’t going to get you anywhere. One must let go so they can receive what is waiting for them. What they are entitled to. A life stripped down, simplified, and worth living.

When we are victims of hurtful or painful things, we immediately play the victim. We become martyrs. Now I know it’s somewhat normal to act this way, we’re human after all. But, what we forget is that ultimately it’s up to us to get up, dust ourselves off, and move forward. Can’t depend on other people to make you whole, happy, or complete.
We all walk our own paths in life. We either make a mark, or just fade into the background. What kind of life, do you want to have? I know what kind I want. No more being a victim. No more playing a martyr. Life is better than that, no?
Got to learn how to deal with all the pain, hurt, and obstacles. We need to take one day at a time. If today doesn’t work out the way you want, try again. Just don’t get stuck. We are all broken, or have been broken to some degree. But we can be repaired, restored, reborn…

Life can be hectic, and seem like it’s too much to handle at times. I know in my experiences, dealing with personal issues, and then dealing with the falling apart of my life back in Chicago, there were times where I didn’t think I was going to make it.
One positive that I found in all of the negative was that I was given an opportunity to slow down, stop, and use the time given to observe, learn, and grow into a better person. It may sound crazy, and honestly, to me it still does at times, but it was almost as if I was given a gift. A second chance. I am truly still a work in progress.
I will admit, they’re times where I thought I was going to blow it. Still do. But the OLD pessimistic me would just “go with the flow” until good old Joey gets in his own way, or something else threw a monkey wrench into the machine, then the “I knew it” would come out. But notice I said OLD me. And remember that your words do have weight, and if they are negative, they’ll weigh you down.
Yes, life can be difficult, stressful. Try and look at yourself, look within, and use the strength you have to MAKE it slow down, and easier for you to handle. Life should be lived abundantly, not with struggle. If you stumble and fall, you stumble and fall. The key is to get back up, and keep going.
