Hey everybody. Just a quick post to let you know that you can listen to music featured on the blog now via YouTube and Spotify. Just click on the links in the sidebar (and the links page via the menu on mobile) and enjoy.
This is somewhat experimental at this point, and changes may be made here and there, but I thought I’d put something together and share. Thanks again….be well.
Let’s face it, life, and the world in general can be less than amusing at times. But what do you do about it? A lot of us just kind of become these lifeless bodies that just accept the mediocrity and accept the negative and bad that happens instead of trying to make ourselves, and our situations better.
There is a power within us. Something built in. Most of us don’t realize it. There is nothing we can’t do. The road you choose is up to you. Life is what we make out of it, we shouldn’t let life make us into something we’re not, or don’t want to be. It’s our life, we should take control, and create what we want.
So remember that instead of allowing persons or situations to affect us negatively, and make our lives miserable, let’s do the exact opposite. Let’s throw away all of the nonsense and battle through it, taking no prisoners, taking our lives back.

It’s funny when I think about where I was say a year ago, and where I am now. I would have never thought I would be here, in exile, life burned to the ground. But, was my life so great to begin with? I know it sounds cliche and almost like a broken record, but things supposedly happen for a reason, right?
If things didn’t happen the way they did, there would be no rebirth. No opportunity to fix things within myself. There would be nothing learned or seeds planted for future growth. There would be no Joey Flowers. No blog. No writing. There are many things I could get into. Bottom line is, I had to go through hell in order to get to my new destination.
We need to find the silver lining in everything. Not always easy, I know, but there is a reason things happen the way they do. We need to find those silver linings, and learn to recognize them. Once we get ourselves to that point, things should be easier to handle. That way, we could be BETTER than we were say, a year ago…

Things get taken for granted. We often just live life not really being mindful of things. Time passes and then we ask ourselves where it went. You really don’t know what you got until it’s gone. Relationships, career moves, talents that were never nurtured, etc.
But are they really gone? Or is that something that’s put inside your mind by you? I used to think that it was too late for certain things. But, like they say, things happen for a reason, and things happen the way they were supposed to happen.
We don’t always understand it, and honestly, I still don’t understand it either, but we just need to forget all that. Live for the now, and be thankful for the opportunity to have another day to try again, whatever that may be. We need to learn to utilize every moment we have to advance, and make our lives better.
So don’t feed into all the regret and all the negative that happens. We have the power to survive this inside of us. Survive the broken hearts, survive the unemployment, survive the missed opportunities and life in general. It may seem difficult, and I won’t lie, it is at times, but don’t you want to be free? I know I do…

Mediocrity. I think a lot of us live with it daily. Why do we become so used to mediocrity? I know for myself, things never seemed to get better and I always felt like I was spinning in circles. Same thing day in and day out, no advancement, no change.
So what do you do? I know I decided that enough’s enough. You have to wake up and realize that you have the power, the will to make things better for yourself. To make the life you want to live. I don’t know about you, but I get tired of the same old BS, over and over. Doesn’t get you anywhere.
Strive to become better, life does get hard, things do go wrong. But why stay in that negativity, why not rise above it? We are better than that. We are valuable. Don’t let the chains of mediocrity hold you back. Break the chains and claim your freedom.
